Projects

  • Client: BHP
    Industry: Mining (Iron Ore)
Scope: SPS, DPS, Execution, and TTO ($11M)
    Services: Project management

    The problem:

In their EPS feedback, workers staying at BHP’s FIFO accommodation villages in the Pilbara consistently complained about the Guest WIFI. To put it nicely.

    How it was solved:

    • Deployed a new Guest WIFI User Authentication solution across BHP’s FIFO villages (12 villages, 10,000+ rooms) which made it much simpler and easier for users to connect

    • Built a new high-speed 100Gbps Wide Area Network increasing backhaul capacity by 10x

    Value delivered:

    • Material improvement in Guest WIFI utilisation: +107% increase in data downloaded, +47% increase in the number of connected devices, and +30% increase in peak download speed

    • Significant reduction in Guest WIFI-related complaints in EPS feedback

    Why it’s important:

Directly supports the mental health and wellbeing of BHP’s FIFO workforce by enabling them to stay connected with family and friends while away from home, which is a key psychosocial safety control.

  • Client: BHP
    Industry: Mining (Iron Ore)
    Scope: TTO
    Services: Delivery

    The problem:

The project applied extensive security treatments to BHP’s FIFO accommodation villages in the Pilbara. This included a large technology scope which needed to be transitioned to BAU support in order to sustain value.

    How it was solved:

    • Led the successful transition of the technology scope, which involved close collaboration with multiple Technology service owner teams across 7x domain-specific TTOs

    Value delivered:

    • Sustained value by ensuring ongoing support and maintenance of the technology systems deployed by the project

    • Secured $4M annual incremental opex funding for Technology service owner teams to meet the increase in operational demand

    Why it’s important:

Strengthens critical controls for the Sexual Assault and Sexual Harassment (SASH) material risk at BHP’s FIFO villages.

  • Client: BHP
    Industry: Mining (Iron Ore)
    Scope: Execution ($17.4M)
    Services: Delivery

    The problem:

The South Flank Project technology scope included deployment of a new private 4G LTE network which was on the critical path for mine development works.

    How it was solved:

    • Managed specialist technology vendor Nokia to execute the design, offsite integration testing, onsite commissioning, and drive-testing scope

    Value delivered:

    • Completed commissioning of the new LTE network ahead of schedule

    • Mobilised and managed the technology vendor to execute a high volume of onsite works for a major mining construction project with no LTIs

    Why it’s important:

Enabled mine development works to progress to schedule, protecting the First Ore milestone.

  • Client: Woodside
    Industry: Energy
    Scope: SPS, DPS, Execution ($5M)
    Services: Project management

    The problem:

The safety and production-critical 2-way radio system at Woodside’s Pluto Onshore LNG Plant was end-of-life and introduced an asset integrity risk.

    How it was solved:

    • Led the delivery of a new TETRA Digital Radio System and Radio Console System, including interfaces to the Pluto A offshore platform and the Pluto Support Centre in Perth

    Value delivered:

    • Migrated users to the new systems with zero production impact and no downtime

    • Provided Woodside with a strategic Burrup-wide radio communications solution by integrating with other in-region assets, including Karratha Gas Plant and King Bay Supply Base facility

    Why it’s important:

Addressed the asset integrity risk with the 2-way radio system, which is formally identified as a Safety Critical Element in the Safety Case.
